Nestled deep within the pristine wilderness of the Kudremukh National Park, the Gangadikal Trek is a hidden gem in the Western Ghats. The trail offers a perfect blend of adventure, lush greenery, mist-covered peaks, and refreshing streams. Detailed Itinerary

  • Departure from Bangalore (Overnight Journey)
  • Vehicle: Non-AC with push-back seats for a comfortable overnight journey.
  • Reach the homestay around 6:00 AM after an overnight journey from Bangalore
  • Freshen up and enjoy a local breakfast
  • Pack your lunch in a steel box for the trek
  • 09:00 AM – Start the Gangadikal Trek (inside Kudremukh National Park)
  • Trek distance: ~10 km (round trip) through shola forests, misty meadows & streams
  • Enjoy a packed lunch at the Gangadikal summit with views of the Western Ghats & Kudremukh ranges
  • Return to the homestay by 6:00 PM
  • Relax with a bonfire (weather permitting)
  • Home-cooked dinner & overnight stay under peaceful mountain skies
  • Wake up to a peaceful morning and enjoy breakfast at the homestay
  • Visit the scenic Kalasa Hanging Bridge with beautiful views of the Bhadra River and lush greenery
  • Visit Kalaseshwara Temple for a calm, spiritual experience

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a moderate-level trek, suitable for fit beginners and regular trekkers.

Around 12 km (both ways).

No, camping is not permitted at the peak as it lies in the forest zone. Camping is done at the base.

From September to February, when the weather is pleasant and views are clear.

Oct to Feb. Cool weather, clear views. Avoid March-May due to heat + no shade. Monsoon is slippery on rocks.

3-4 hours round trip from base village Kurudi. Start 5:30-6am for sunrise + to avoid heat. 1hr at top.

No ropes needed. Steel ladders + railings are fixed. But good grip shoes + gloves for chains are a must. Not for people scared of heights.

2L water, cap, sunscreen, energy bars, gloves, good trekking shoes. No shops on hill. Carry down all waste.

Basic fitness + no vertigo needed. Last 200m is vertical rock climbing with ladders. Kids below 12 not recommended.

Bangalore pickup/drop, breakfast + lunch, guide, safety briefing, first aid. We manage permits if any.

360° view of Devarayanadurga, Namada Chilume, Madhugiri Fort. Famous for sunrise + adventure photography.
